Our staff can arrange comfortable and reliable transportation from Quito to the Quilotoa area, starting from $120.oo daily according to the number of visitors. There will be an extra charge of $60.oo if you request an English speaking guide/driver. Accommodation and meals of guides and drivers are not included in the price.
There are many daily buses from Quito to Latacunga, departing from the main bus terminal at any time. The drive will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes. In Latacunga you have to go to the main bus terminal to take many daily buses to La Maná or Quevedo. You have to leave the bus at the entrance of the village of Zumbahua . This drive will take about another 1 hour and 30 minutes. From here you could hire a pick-up truck to the Quilotoa Lake and Lodge for approximately $10.oo. If you share the pick-up truck, the fare is about $1.oo or $2.oo per person. The drive from Zumbahua to the Quilotoa Lake or Lodge is about 20 minutes.
There is just one morning (10:00hrs) and one afternoon (13:00hrs.) bus of "Cooperativa Vivero" that goes directly from Latacunga to Quilotoa for $3.oo per person; however, visitors need to check the schedule in advance because sometimes the departure time changes according to the number of passengers or availability of buses
Visitors can also take a taxi from Latacunga to Quilotoa. A day trip by taxi to Zumbahua and Quilotoa and return to Latacunga will cost approximately $60.oo.
